Tubes

On Tuesday Brinkley got tubes in her ears. She has had about 9 - 10 ear infections in the last year. She was supposed to get them done two weeks ago, but she was so sick they didn't want to put her under. So we tried again this last Tuesday and it was a success! The dr. said that when he cut into her ears a lot of white gooey fluid came out, so she should be able to hear better too! She has been doing great. She was a little disoriented when she woke up, but after we left the surgery center she was fine. She's been doing great, and it's been a whole week without sickness! Hooray!!!!

She also had her 18 month check-up this week. She is 32 inches tall, which puts her right around the 55th percentile for height. And she is still not quite to twenty pounds. She weighs 19 lbs, 4 oz, which means she is less than 3rd percentile for weight. She hasn't gained weight for a few weeks, which is a little alarming, but the dr. said she is gaining height so that's good. He just said that we need to feed her high calorie foods and drinks. Hopefully now that she has tubes in, she'll be able to stay well long enough to gain weight!

She is so sweet and feisty. Her favorite word is still "NO". Which is the answer to every question, even ones we haven't finished asking. She is lots of fun and we love her!

Ahhh. The girls are both so cute! Addison does look just like you did at her age. We had the same experience (tubes) with Jenae when she was little. She had two sets of tubes. The first set went in at 10 months, the second at 2 1/2 years. Each time I noticed a huge leap in her language development after getting the tubes put in. Too bad they did not do tubes back when her grandma Marlene was a child.
