More on Brazil

Hello again everyone! Zack and I are now in Brasilia, which is the capital of Brazil. We are staying with one of Zack´s companions and his wife, Jean and Merriellen. They are so nice and take good care of us. I have had some problems adjusting to the food. Rice and beans twice a day is a little tough on my body, but other than that, things are great. The fruit here is amazing. It´s amazing how different Brasilia is from São Paulo. SP is covered with ugly graffiti, everywhere you look. The houses are stacked on tope of eachother, and it looks very unsafe. There are a lot of slum areas there too. Here in Brasilia, it´s a lot nicer. There isn´t nearly as much graffiti, and the houses look a lot less rundown too. I also haven´t seen as many slum areas. We don´t have as much to do here, but tomorrow we´re going to Recife, where it´s hot, and there are lots of beaches. We met the sister missionaries in this area, and one was American so it was nice to be able to talk to someone. We´ve had similar experiences with food. The Brazilians also keep telling me how I´m going to have to wear a lot of sunscreen in Recife and Natal; it´s pretty funny. We miss Ady, but she is doing great. We miss everyone at home too and we´ll see you soon.

yes I went to Natal the other year before we bought our property in Brazil and immigrated there from the UK. Having Irish heritage it was particularly difficult for me to adjust to the Brazilian heat and sun as i burn so easily but i would say i tolerate it more now then i did about a year ago. Incidentally, I hope you continue to have a great holiday, its good to speak to someone in your native tongue isnt it!
